The term "only" can't be applied cos we don't have strong financial,technological facilities to do higher studies to reach the professor levels locally. But you must understand that there are lots of professor/lecturers around the globe who got their BSc here and completed the rest abroad.

Having said that search for Professor Rohan Abeyaratne and see. He got his first degree here.

yep. almost all got their Phd abroad. but in UOM CSE 100% got their first degree in SL. they followed post grad abroad. but why? do we have good research bases here? do we have good phd courses here. no. that is why. it is not because they want a foreign degree. it is because they what they want is not here at the moment. and again they can afford their post grads abroad coz they have a degree. he can work and earn some. but most of them are here because of the existing education system. mind you machan.. they value what they got from here so much. not like you guys.

i have had no education in sri lanka

you're saying they value the education they got in sri lanka but they never come back to sri lanka after going abroad

i personally don't blame them for not coming back

that's totally bull.
almost all the guys who go abroad for post graduate studies do come back.


btw, pera is the best uni in SL. no i'm not saying that cuz i graduated from pera but during my stay i got the chance to visit UoC, Kelaniya and Moratuwa.. and guess what pera is way better.. so it's only natural to assume the same with regard to the other uni's
