Beginners : Posting a Pic @ ElaKiri - The Complete Guide + Tips
Posting an image on ElaKiri is something every member should need to know. At ElaKiri we share lots of things we get via E-Mails/Websites.
On this tutorial I'm going to teach you how to post an image from your E-Mail completely. Additionally you will learn about replying to a post, about BB codes that are needed for special posting, and image hosting sites that you can use freely.
1.Let's goto the E-Mail inbox. Select and open the E-Mail that contains the image. Right Click on the image and click Save Image As...
In the dialog box, save the file where you can find it easily. Click Save.
Now you have the image on your hard drive.
This step is vital if your going to post something that is stored in a private place (eg. your E-Mail account-It is private, so the image link won't show up to others)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.Go to http://www.imageshack.us
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.Now your file will be uploaded to the imageshack server like this.
It is a free image hosting site. You can host any image on this site for free. There are lots of similar sites but I used this for our example. Here are some other free image host sites.
* tinypic.com
* photobucket.com
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.Now you will get another page having the links to the image. Copy the Direct link to image.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.Goto the ElaKiri Quick Reply Box/Advanced Reply Box
The Quick Reply Box is situated at the bottom of the thread's page. It is used for quick reply without going into another page.
The Advanced Reply Box has more customization options than the Quick Reply Box. You can open this from Go Advanced button in the Quick Reply Box.
You will see your image link added between these tags.
Code:
[IMG]<image link>[/IMG]
The [IMG] tag is a BB code. This tag can be used to make links of images to be displayed as images on your post. You must start the code with [IMG] and it must be ended with tag. You can even type them without using the Insert Image button.Here are some examples.
* [ B ] - Makes text bold.
* [ I ] - Makes text itallic.
* [ URL ] - Makes text hyperlinked.
Give them a try!
Now click the Post Quick Reply (If you are using the Quick Reply Box) or Submit Reply (If you used the Advanced Reply Box) button on the bottom of the reply box.
There you go. Here is the final result!
