Well jst got this idea to put this thread up after looking at a thread where one of ur fellow elakiri members had asked for sumthing related to prefectship.

im not talking abt being a junior prefect in grade 5 or 8/9. im talking abt being a prefect when ur in da AL classes.

share ur thoughts and give ur comments here.

been a prefect is a additional responsibility beside been a example for ur juniors.. you hv to protects the traditions of the school and the name of the school and has to be an example to the whole country.

and been in a prefect guild is a great experience. you learn loads of things tru that...

but sad to say some schools trying to make it a military group which spread terror in the school..try to make other students respect them rather dan winning the respect vth good manners...

been a prefect is a good thing.. but there is a question abut the way its been practiced now a days.

dat thread was for her to know abt sumthing.

in there i saw dat lots f ppl have different views abt prefects so i thought of opening this so that they can scold the prefects as much as they want in here and jst answer r-girls question in dat question.

WELL I KNOW U HAVE TO WORK HARD TO BE ONE.AND ALSO U HAVE TO DO SOME PANDAMA STUFF ALSO.I WAS NEVER MADE A SCHOOL PREFECT MY SELF.I THOUGHT I HAD NO CHANCE AGAINST THE OTHER ONES WHO HAD ASKED FOR PREFECT SHIP.
BUT I MUST SAY PPL WHO WERE WAY BELOW MY SELF ALSO GOT IT.AND LATER I FOUND OUT HOW THEY GAVE THEM THE MARKS.I COULD HAVE EASILY BE ONE IF I HAD APPLIED.
BUT I MUST SAY THE PPL WHO WERE BELOW MY LEVEL HAD SOME USEFUL CONTACTS ALSO!!!

My personal belief is if you are capable of balancing both studies and extra curricular activities (sports, club work, prefectship) then no problem..go ahead be a prefect...
But the most important thing is you need to have group of fellow prefects who are deserving and capable of doing a solid job for the skul...
I've wanted to become a prefect since i was 7 or 8...but when you move up the years in skul and you start to see the lameness and uselessness of some of the so called senior prefects...you are forced to think "am i seriously gonna be a prefect?"
That's the exact reason I never applied for prefectship...
It's really sad to see such a respected and honored position being counted for so little by the majority of the students...
But that's how it goes I guess...Whether one likes it or not...

If u be a prefect ..u might as well forget about ur friends bcause u r gng 2 loose them someway or the other...
But after all it will be very useful when lukin 4 a job
