this is rather the best place in the city to spend some time in peace with a loved one in peace, not to forget the barefoot gallery. I used to go there every satday eve with my GF, they have some great Mocha's & Latte's, but haven't been there now for few months. Prices are damn expensive but the stuff us great.

The historic building that houses Gallery Cafe used to be an office for Sri Lanka's most famous architect, Geoffrey Bawa. Entry is through a series of colonnaded courtyards featuring ornamental pools; from the outer latticed gate you can gaze right through to the inner courtyard. There are exhibitions of paintings and photography in the courtyards, as well as in the building.
