I have seen lot of newcomers to EK are posting all sorts of rubbish (to earn money, hack sites etc) and I feel they are trying to degrade EK as they could be Admins of other similar forums in the net wants their sites get popularized among the net community.

Is there a way to get a patent for the EK logo as there is another forum which has used part of the EK logo as for their logo.

This was reviled by one of our EK member yesterday. only thing that I cannot give the web address here.

Is there a way to get a patent for the EK logo.

macho as far as i knw abt patents u cn only get a patent for a physical design or a method bt a logo can be protected bt copyright n as well as a trademark...

The possibilty to safeguard this logo is to copyright it or create a Trademark..

It is monitored by the intellectual property Act 2001.

Roughly, the payments involved are for the compilation of documents, for the advocate to provide reasons for this measure, Admin charges, Fee to registrar and the relevant taxes....

This would approximately amount to about 150,000/-...

Do you think its worthwhile?

I didn't knew the procedure of this and only thing I worried about not to loose this fabulous site, which is bread and butter for me

yes, but did u look the dot and the flag

the national flag CANNOT be used as a patented trademark.
Adding the flag doesnt make them copiers of EK.
Even EK changes the logo from time to time so this is not a big deal to get worked up about.
