10.55am And the cover comes off ... that's been the highlight of the fun so far today. Our man in the stands says: "Just a few seats still to be taken - the music is loud and clear and at midwicket the Aussie fans are still keeping themselves entertained by hitting around a big inflatable ball."

Being really miserable, if there is no play today or tomorrow then the teams will be declared joint winners.

GOOD TOSS 2 LOSE??

Australia have chosen to bat. That’s been their gameplan through the World Cup and they have the confidence to stick to it. The sun came out briefly. Now it’s gone behind again. In fact, it has begun to drizzle again. The covers are coming on. It’s a good toss to lose for Sri Lanka. The conditions in the morning will suit them.
The track they are using today is different from on the one West Indies played England. That was a belter. The rain has got heavier. It is no longer a drizzle. Did the toss come a few minutes too early for Australia?

11.05am Very bad language from many sitting near me as the covers come back on. We had some blue sky but the dark clouds have come back.

Re the number of overs that will be deducted ... we won't know how many until we get a start time, then it will be calculated.

11.25am This is not looking at all good. The drizzle is steady ...and we have confirmation that overs are being lopped off.
