Body Found: Mannar Beach

A body of a person believed to be an Indian fisherman was washed ashore on the south beach of Mannar, the Police said.

A group of local fishermen who found the body on the beach reported it to the Navy in the vicinity. Upon being informed by the Navy, the police visited the scene and are conducting further investigations.

An Indian fishermen s body was washed ashore at South Bar beach at Mannar this afternoon, Police said.

Police had recovered two Indian rupees notes in his wallet and hence believe he is an Indian national.

Mannar Magistrate K.Jeevarani who visited the scene ordered the Police to take the body to the Mannar Hospital for a post mortem.
