    Two more injured civilians succumbed to their injuries short while ago bringing the total number of deaths from the Fort railway station blast to eleven, while 103 others were receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

    LTTE terrorists exploded a bomb at Colombo Fort railway station

    LTTE terrorists exploded a bomb inside the Colombo Fort railway station at 2.10 p.m today, February 03.

    The bomb had exploded on platform 3 beside a slow passenger train destined to Ambepusssa. A spokesman for the Colombo Fort Railway station said that all incoming trains to Fort Railway station have been temporarily halted.

    Two more injured civilians succumbed to their injuries short while ago bringing the total number of deaths from the Fort railway station blast to eleven, while 103 others were receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

    Bomber blew herself up when checking was on
    Police believe that the suicide bomber had come from Medawachchiya-Fort train and blew herself up when the security forces personnel were carrying out random checking at the station.

    Fort station back to normal, trains as usual
    Train service from Fort to other areas resumed as usual and security has been tightened up at the station with additional troops.
