I believe this is the variant that was reported to have started around mid- December somewhere between 15 - 23 December. It's Lineage P.1 (descendent of B.1.1.28), contains several mutations E484K, K417T, and N501Y. This one is associated with increased transmission and also increased reinfection rates.
