The CDC has just confirmed that a case of Ebola has been diagnosed in the US for the first time. And although this isn't the first case of someone being treated for the disease in the US, the announcement does mark the first case of Ebola discovered on North American soil.
On Monday, doctors at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas said that a man had been placed in isolation because of his travel history and symptoms. Reuters later reported that US health officials were ready to travel to Dallas if the man was, indeed, diagnosed with the disease.
