Sources said that the General had agreed to most of her conditions. When Daily Mirror online contacted General Fonseka he confirmed that he had talks with the Batticaloa Mayor to seek her support at the polls but could not comment further. The Batticaloa Mayor could not be reached for a comment. (DM Online)</blockquote>
