A five-story building has collapsed in Dubai, causing a mass of debris to fall onto cars on the street below.
A large section of the building, which was under construction, fell onto the Abu Hail Road in Deira this afternoon.
Following the collapse, emergency crews cordoned off the area, which is near the Ramada Continental Hotel, and began a search for any people who could have been trapped under the rubble.
Police would neither confirm or deny any casualties, but ambulance crews were at the scene.
Neither the company undertaking the construction of the building, thought to house commercial and residential units, nor the cause of the collapse is yet known.
