However it supports the TNA in the forthcoming general elections as this is a crucial event marking a turning point in the LTTE's freedom struggle."</p><p></p><p>"Tamils in the northeast in past extended their whole hearted support to the Pongu Thamil celebrations (Tamil Resurgence Movement). They should also consider the forthcoming general elections as another Pongu Thamil event and extend their full support to TNA candidates," said Mr.Arasanna.</p><p></p><p>Jaffna TNA candidate and a former president of the Jaffna University Students Forum Mr.S.Gajendran, TNA national list candidate Mr.K.Sooriayakumaran and Vadamarachchi LTTE political head Mr.E.Thaya also spoke.</p><p></p><p>The meeting started at around 8.30 p.m. The Police stopped the use of public address system at 9 pm according to prevailing rule but the meeting beyond 9pm without the public address system, sources said.</p></blockquote><p></p>
