Buying items from Ebay

I want to buy some item from ebay.com. When i select the item all are in auction. What does that mean. Can I buy the item from the indicated price or will I loose it if some one offer to buy it at a higher value. Help me...

once you win the auction with the highest bid, you'll get an email informing about your win. then you'll have to pay by paypal or other media, all you have to do is to pay the bid price and the shipping cost. If you see "Buy it now" in a page of a certain item, that means you can buy the item without bidding for the indicated price. happy bidding
