Don't even ask for help about a virus here, with your precious antivirus, because you will be humiliated :P

Stop using an administrator account in the first place.
Do not try out software like crazy. Plan what you want to install, and stick to that plan.
Stop downloading cracks or even browsing crack sites.
If you really wanna download software, use a private torrent tracker, and wait for a day or so before downloading them, as if there are viruses in those softwares, people who download first will detect them. But there is a very low chance of finding virus infected softwares in a private torrent site, because you will be banned if they find out.
Use a reputed email service like gmail which scans your emails many times before forwarding to the inbox. Don't even open emails from people who are not known to you, especially if it contains an attachment.

Most important thing: Backup your data frequently!!!

If you are using a standard user account, you are safe from most of those threats. Believe me, you can even run a virus infected application without harming the system...at least in Vista. (But don't try that :P)

Further, 64bit Vista has more security measures. The kernel is protected. It randomizes the memory addresses to which the important entries are loaded, on each boot, so viruses can't attack specific memory portions that would bring down the whole system, and also it has that no execute technology.

What's up with you guys? I haven't used an antivirus since August. I live a happy life because of it. I use common sense...That's enough most of the times.

Remember, none of these things are available in XP even with an antivirus. I believe the Operating System has to take the control in these matters. I don't like to rely on 3rd party software when it comes to securing against viruses. And you should definitely give up security suites that are cracked, because if it can be cracked, how can you expect a virus not to do the same thing.

What you guys have is a system which if you are lucky, you won't get infected. Lucky = antivirus detects them.
What I have is, the virus can't actually do anything. The best one can do is erase my data files in D:, but I do backup my data, so no harm...well...maybe I should update security entries so that the data which are not modified, are not modifiable by a standard user :)

MntDrCore was OK. It didn't infect the PC. (Tried it on a virtual PC with the same setup)
Have never come across Printer.exe :baffled:

What do you mean how? Standard user cannot do anything that would harm the system.
