can windows apps be run on linux?? | urgent!!

hey can windows applications be run on linux systems?? im havin troubles wit ma windows and cant work on it. nw im running da ubuntu live CD to use da comp. im nw thinking of shifting to ubuntu. but da thing is i need to use da softwares lyk flash, etc.

is there n e way dat i can run them on ubuntu??

i seriously dont know much abt linux but this seems kind of cool than windows and also much easier and convinient!

Use wine.It creates a virtual windows environment and creates stuff like program files etc. so that you can run win proggys on linux.It was specially made for games.And there are some others but they are not fre.

i heard ab WINE but never used it b4
but all the programs will not run with wine

1.go to synaptic package manager
2.find wine
3.put tick
4.apply and wait
5.done

but i don't think wine will work properly with complex software's. but give a try. i use utorrent in wine and work properly.
