Scoring consistantly in both laps is so hard. Sometimes I score 900k+ in the first lap and fall well short of 1.5million after the second lap because I touch a wall slightly or because my speed drops.

High speed and staying on the knife-edge whenever you can.
You have to drive as fast as you can and not let the speed drop below certain value. That value is dependent on the car model. Faster the car (eg: Carrera GT, Crovette), you have to drive really fast. You don't have to drive that fast if you drive the 350Z or Lancer. But I love faster cars, so I'm using Corvette and Viper.
