Vancouver: Real Estate prices are very high. Weather is good and British Columbia is beautiful. Good opportunities for people to work. Cost of living is high.
Calgary: Health System comparatively better, taxes very low, weather - only 2–3 months of summer that feels like fall weather in most places- basically not much summer and sunsets around 9:30 pm till 10 pm in summers.
But Calgary is beautiful with 1–3 hours drives to Banff, Kananaskis, Waterton national parks. Jasper and Glacier national parks also close by.
But with the uncertainty of oil & gas industry in Canada Calgary is losing jobs and unemployment is rising.
Housing is affordable in Calgary, cost of living is comparably higher.
we found many liquor shops (local and Canadian superstore etc.) in Calgary Alberta and liquor even at the gas station , however Ontario- Toronto only LCBO has the license to sell liquor that is not from Ontario.
Toronto: Healthcare System is comparable, cost of living is comparable, taxes are higher, real estate prices are high compared to Calgary but lower compared to Vancouver. Weather is similar to New York.
Toronto has awesome food!! But only LCBO has liquor license to sell liquor from outside Ontario.
The best thing is connectivity from Toronto to the rest of the world. Toronto is much much better connected than Calgary and comparably better than Vancouver - so travelling is easier.
All in all Toronto is a livelier and more happening place to live in.
