One of 12 boys dramatically rescued after two weeks trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand in 2018 has died in Britain where he was attending a soccer academy, his former teacher said on Wednesday.

Duangpetch Promthep, better known as “Dom”, was captain of the “Wild Boars” team whose seemingly impossible extraction by international divers and Thai navy SEALs captured huge global attention.
He had moved to the UK to attend a college’s football academy, died on Tuesday, said the Zico Foundation, which had supported his scholarship abroad. His death was also confirmed by Brooke House college in Leicester. Dom was found in his dorm by a teacher on Sunday and was taken by ambulance to hospital, Kiatisuk Senamuang, the founder of the Zico Foundation, told an online press conference. :(
