You mean 55AH battery... That's the rating the battery can deliver the load. Say if you draw 10A from it continuously, then it will last for 5.5 hours. (without being charged by the alternator)
(10A x 5.5H = 55AH)
It's not an indication of the current it can deliver. If you short circuit the battery then the max current will be dictated by the internal resistance of the battery. Maybe you can do a search on the net.
With your Soundstream 6500D, it can deliver 7000W. I am not saying that you can run it at that wattage. Say if you get 2000W out of it, when powered by a car battery , the load current will be nearly 170A. At full amp load the current will be in excess of 450A!
So clearly a small 55AH battery or your alternator cannot handle it.
Also if you don't power them up with large terminals and wire gauges there will be a voltage drop on the amp input and the amp will not function properly. So you need a professional installer.
