The fact is, once I graduate, I will be start earning 5 times the amount that a Sri Lankan international student would be (who's working in SL) even with a better degree. Sri Lanka is a developing country, with a civil war to fund. You can not possibly deny that. Most of the 'tax' that the government gets goes into fund the war. Look at the currency difference man. Again, you will not understand the benefits that we're getting over here without coming to UK and seeing for your self. Services are way better. Even in rural areas, you get runing water, electricity and a supermarket will be found within 15 minutes walking distance (unless you're in one of the ancient forest grounds of course <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/P.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":P" title=":P :P" data-shortname=":P" />) The place that I was from (in SL), 10 family share the same well, has no electricity, and its definately not hygenic - nothing changed - I came to the country in 2004 - decided never to set foot in it until problems are resolved and politicians pull their socks up and work for what they are paid for. </p><p></p><p>Actually, I would've made a huge difference in SL. atm I'm doing Civil Engineerng MEng at a very respectable and globally recognised university in UK. Just the other day I was going through the league table... Colombo university man... Do you know its ranking globally? I was browzing through the pages and pages and was incredably shocked to find it in the 500ish place man. If that doesn't make you wanting to stay in SL and continue higher eduatioation, i dont know what will <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/P.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":P" title=":P :P" data-shortname=":P" />. I mean, the only sri lankan university, 500tish place??? Thats laughable. Its just plain stupid. </p><p></p><p>You're right man. I'm not coming back to SL. Not even for holidays.
