The Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) M.M.C. Ferdinando stated that a request has been made to the Police and the CID to conduct an investigation into the power outages that took place in many parts of the island last night (29).
He stated to the Hiru News team that the request was made in a letter considering several complaints received that the power outage was a sabotage act.
The power supply to several areas was cut off yesterday due to a breakdown in the power transmission line from Kotmale to Biyagama.
