Chandimal to lead Lanka

Sri Lankan Vice Captain Dinesh Chandimal has been appointed as Stand-in Captain for the first two One Day Internationals against South Africa, sources said.

Lahiru Thirimanne has been appointed Vice Captain of the team.

The appointments come in the wake of the suspension of Captain Angelo Mathews for the team’s slow over-rate at the recently concluded series in the West Indies.

Sri Lanka has recalled batsman Jehan Mubarak into a 15 man squad named to take on the visiting South Africans in the first two ODI games of the tour.
Mubarak, last played for Sri Lanka in a T20 International in 2009 and a ODI game in January 2009.
Apart from the 32 year old Mubarak, Sri Lanka has also recalled all-rounder Thisara Perera, who was dropped from the team, following the just concluded ICC Champions trophy tournament.
Batsman Kusal Janith have been dropped from the squad.
