Change the " Start " button String to your Name

:yes: * First of all remember that your dealing with windows files and registry , so be careful , don’t worry, if you follow these steps correctly and didn’t done any stupid things. Every thing will be ok,
But try this at your own risk …

First download the “ Resource Hacker " software , you can search the keyword
" Resource Hacker " on Google or try this direct link
http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/Resource_Hacker_340/4-3568-1.html

Extract the zip file and run ResHacker.exe

Then go to file --> Open

Then select your system drive I mean the OS installed drive , and go to windows and open the file " explorer.exe "

:yes: * Now your going to change the " explorer.exe " file and it will not be a problem because we're creating a new file, but in case of emergency
it is better to keep a backup of the " explorer.exe " so backup it ( copy explorer.exe and past it in another folder )

After you open the explorer.exe in Resource Hacker go to the string table ( expand the tree String table which is at left side of Resource Hacker )

Then select 37

Select 1033

Make sure that your under the 37 and selected 1033 correctly

Then the right side will display some codes

Find the coding ' 578, "start" ' and change the " start " to your name or what ever you want to add to the start button

Then click compile script button

Then file --> save as --> and save with a file name under the windows folder and the extension and the directory must be the same (".exe" and the directory is Windows)
EX: "explorer_changed.exe"

Then the registry part...

Go to start ---> run ---> type "regedit" without quotes

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --- > SOFTWARE ---> Microsoft --> Windows NT
--> CurrentVersion ---> Winlogon

Then find the Shell command from the right side of the window and double click it

Enter your saved explorer file name (changed one) in Value Data
Ex: if you saved the changed file as explorer_changed.exe then type explorer_changed.exe at the value data and click ok

Restart the computer..

You’re done :lol: .

:confused: * Ok... what you have done is you has changed the explorer.exe file and saved it in a different name so the original one will remain..
And in regedit you have changed the path from original to the duplicate (the file we created) , so to restore simply go to regedit and change the shell to the original file name
Ex : explorer.exe

Then restart the computer...

:shocked: Please don’t make any changes in regedit or explorer.exe without knowing what’s happening…. ( You can try , but the thing is you can keep a backup of explorer.exe but you can’t backup the registry, so please don’t mess it up ok…. )

Any problem then mail to me: [email protected]

:D :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :D
