Even for the simplest of softwares which works with XP arent compatible with vista. Vista daala amaruwe watichcha ona tharan kattiya mama dannawa
try karanna ona nan install karannna. Vista is good only if U like fancy colors graphics stuff & it has somewhat good security platform compared to other windows versions. But believe me too much security is a heck of a nuisance for the end user...
With your specs of the PC I'd say you stick with vista business edition. Ultimate has everything but eats up hell of lot of resources (VGA , RAM , CPU )...
PPl say vista runs smoother than XP. Its correct because it eats up your RAM to keep every possible data.To experiance that smoothness U better have a lot of RAM like 2GB+
