I think Xp will work better since you have only 1GB Ram.
You can use Vista but it will be just waste of system resources for a 1GB RAM PC

vista damma kiyala maha loku scene ekak naaa machan. mata nan XP thama deyya. Ona ekak karanna puluwan, ona magulak karanna athi tharan software thiyenewa, ona game ekak gahanna puluwan. drivers ona tharan thiyenewa...etc :lol:

If you use vista most of the above mentioned facilities will be not avaliable, im telling coz Ive tried it :) :)
Even for the simplest of softwares which works with XP arent compatible with vista. Vista daala amaruwe watichcha ona tharan kattiya mama dannawa :rofl:

try karanna ona nan install karannna. Vista is good only if U like fancy colors graphics stuff & it has somewhat good security platform compared to other windows versions. But believe me too much security is a heck of a nuisance for the end user...

With your specs of the PC I'd say you stick with vista business edition. Ultimate has everything but eats up hell of lot of resources (VGA , RAM , CPU )...

PPl say vista runs smoother than XP. Its correct because it eats up your RAM to keep every possible data.:lol: To experiance that smoothness U better have a lot of RAM like 2GB+ :baffled::baffled:

Actually I've now been using Vista for few months I must admit that Vista had fewer systems hangs compared to XP, actually the bottom line is.. if you know Vista gonna suck up your memory stick with what's best for you!

Dont go and use Vista from PC's which will not perform best in Vista and criticize it..... its not fair! If you wanna criticize Vista's performance then work from a relatively high end PC and then run Vista and see...

And It maybe sucking up your memory more than XP, but when Idle it only uses about 2% of my CPU! So some of these claims are not true!
