After the shooting the media descended on the community and criticized the Amish community for their forgiveness of the shooters and for their outreach to his widow, Amy Roberts (Tammy Blanchard). Ida Graber (Williams -Paisley) feels devastated by her daughter's death and grapples with the Amish communities belief in the transcending power of forgiveness.
