Minister for National Languages and Social Integration- Vasudeva Nanayakkara is to be questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) tomorrow.
Officials said that the Minister will be questioned inside his office sometime tomorrow afternoon over a remark allegedly made by in the immediate aftermath of the killing of Presidential Advisor Baratha Lakshman Premachandra on October eight.
At a press briefing Mr. Nanayakkara had said that there was a ‘conspiracy’ surrounding the Baharatha Lakshman slaying adding that it may have also been the outcome of a personal grudge.
"We should denounce this killing and also the acts of some policemen who use their powers to carry out murders", he told the briefing.
The late Presidential Advisor was shot dead along with three others and 15 others were wounded in a bloody shoot out with UPFA Colombo District MP Duminda Silva who was also critically wounded and is currently under going treatment at the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital.
