They are  quite effective solo, but they are also very capable in groups. Archers  are commonly used with <a href="http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon" target="_blank">Dragons</a> and <a href="http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Balloon" target="_blank">Balloons</a> at later levels. At lower levels, some players use Archers with <a href="http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Giant" target="_blank">Giants</a> or <a href="http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Barbarian" target="_blank">Barbarians</a> as meat shields, because <a href="http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Barbarian" target="_blank">Barbarians</a> and <a href="http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Giant" target="_blank">Giants</a>  have more HP, while Archers can shoot over walls.
