Coaches are not required in cricket: Shoaib Akhtar
Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar today said coaches do not play any role in enhancing performance of a cricketer and they are paid handsome money just for being with the team, doing nothing.
"I can say this with certainty that I have never benefited or learnt anything from any coach in my career. Coaches are just paid heavy packages and generally they do nothing. It all matters on how players perform on the field.
A coach can't do much about it," he said.
The enigmatic paceman said all a coach could do is to make players mentally tough and raise their confidence level.
