The central district of Nuwara Eliya continues to be wrapped up in cold weather with the temperature dipping down to 7.4 degrees Celsius, an official with the Department of Meteorology said a short while ago.
The cold weather in that area was a result of the impending north-east monsoon conditions and the same temperature is expected to remain for a period of time, Duty Forecast officer B. G. Yasaratne said.
He added that the rest of the country will also experience fairly strong winds while light showers are expected in the eastern and uva provinces tomorrow.
Weather elsewhere in the country will remain fairly dry for most of the week.
