You won't be able to play at max settings. The frame rates dropped to 20 when I played the demo in my heavily overclocked X800GTO + Core 2 Duo CPU. (but I was using max settings with max anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering.

DUDE dont play with max AA. fiddle around with it and u'll notice that between 2x and 4x there is no real differance. (no differance) or download the tweaked guru 3d drivers. they rock, atleastfor my friends 1600pro.
i played the demo, and was able to play 2x AA and 1024*768 at high. never went below 20fps. and i'm really ok with 20fps cuz i played and completed far cry on my former fx5200. which is like the maruti suzuki of GPUs. lol

You don't have to tell me anything about games' settings.

The difference between 2x and 4x AA is more psychological.

Since it was a strategy game, I didn't feel any lag even though the frame rate was too low to be actually playable (especially in First Person Shooter)

I play FarCry at 1600x1200 4x AA 8xAF and still get 75fps+

This game is a masterpiece. Die-hard gamers (like me ) will download this. But I never though it would be this huge!!!
