Lavinia Magistrate today warned a CID officer and told him not to attempt to deceive the Court or arrest innocent people while the real culprit is allowed to go scot free. Mt. Lavinia Chief Magistrate Harsha Sethunga told the CID officer handling an alleged fraud case that he will be placed on the dock if he fails to carry out his duties properly. Advising the CID officer further, the Magistrate questioned the questioned used in arresting persons purely on statements given by individuals.
