Court orders to publish photos of porn actors

A Colombo Magistrate ordered the Police Children and Women’s Bureau to publish the photographs of several males and females who acted in a pornographic CD that is presently being circulated in the market, in a bid to identify them and take further action.
A Bureau officer filing a report in court submitted to Additional Magistrate Ayesha Abdeen that the Bureau had received several complaints about pornographic CDs that are being circulated in the market and especially sold to students and youngsters.
The officer said during the investigations they were able to recover the CDs and on viewing those CDs they had identified some persons who had willingly acted in the visuals and to conduct further investigations the Bureau needs to establish their identity.
Consequently the officer pleaded to allow them to publish the photographs of those persons in newspapers to seek public assistance to identify them.
The Magistrate considering the application allowed the Children and Women’s Bureau to publish those photographs in the newspapers and ordered the Bureau to file their report in court on October 29.
