We all know to control the current epidemic,
time is the most precious factor.That is why WHO reiterate the phrase" Act fast act fast" constantly.
For the diagnosis of covid 19 patients and after that for contact tracing confirmation by PCR is essentail.
When the epidemic started in Wuhan in China first, with the personal dedications of the virology team at MRI with the great cooperation of renowned Prof. Malik Peiris all the essentail reagents were available at MRI(it was not available in India or some western countries at that time) That is why we were so quick to diagnosis the first case and hereafter continue the test as a routine at MRI.
Mean while all other virologists at peripheries
through their personal contatcs were ready with all reagents to start the PCR tests at their relevant hospitals.
I personally know how much of difficulties and obstacles they had when they started these virology labs at peripheries few years ago.
