As of yesterday, there are about 380 patients, 1/3 oxygen dependent. There are no more 'oxygen beds' in the COVID wards. Daily about 10 patients in each of the non-COVID medical wards become +ve. They are kept side-by-side with non-COVID patients with other general medical problems, sharing common toilets and the pantry, as COVID wards are full. More medical wards are being converted to COVID  wards (our Wd 41 & 48B are now COVID wards) and the medical patients are being relocated. Isolation rooms in 'relocated' wards are small and poorly ventilated. Two of our junior medical staff, both vaccinated & having good antibody response, are positive. A group of about 50 students are currently in the Prof Med appointment. Two of these students who did the week end casualty have become COVID +ve.
