Cricket is not the 2nd most popular game in the world. Cricket is played only in handful of countries. The game developers are not willing to spend lot of money for research development on Cricket games because their sales are low compared to other games.

That is why Cricket games are mostly crappy compared to other sports games like , NFL, FIFA..
