The second stage of the MCC sponsored cricket training and development camp will be held on May 31 at the Sri Sumangala College in Hikkaduwa. These monthly training camps will run for an year and will involve 10 selected schools from the Galle District.
Every last Saturday of the month will see 5 of the 10 schools hosted to the training camp thereby each school will have the opportunity to participate in a total of 6 training camps.
These training camps have been designed to employ the latest approaches in mental, physical, technical and technique training and also incorporate video analysis. The camps are being led by head coach Hemantha Devappriya, a former national cricketer.
The MCC local trustees - Vijaya Malalasekera, Ajith Dias and Mano Ponniah are coordinating this training camp through the Foundation of Goodness, which is providing logistic and other backup support.
This cricket training and development camp - was made possible because of a fund initiated by the Panter family through the kind sponsorship by the 9/12th Lancers (Prince of Wales).
