CRICKET WORLD CUP 2007

THe ICC cricket world cup..
the showpiece event on the cricket calender...
THis year 16 teams are in contention for the games most coveted trophy...
SL being a favourite this time around.. also as usuall have the backin of
SRI LANKANS young and old...
however its sad to say that this year the world cup is to be televised on Rupavahini.. which has a zillion ads and stops transmission for various local
programs.. isnt it dissappointing that ud have to miss important moments of the world cup for news bulletins..(which are quite biased)...

dude only DIALOG satellite is showin the world cup.. thats the only channel.. no other cable providers have it...

Indeed Cricket World cup is a big event to all Sri Lankans and frankly speaking I'd like if it was taken over by Rupavahini not any other "stupid channels", by telecasting it via Rupavahini is fair to everybody in the country because, most of the other channels are barely visible in the rural areas!

And I think whatever ADS that Rupavahini putting fair, cuz, if other channels get to telecast this event we'll only see "4 balls - overs" instead of 6. And of course Rupavahini can shuffle the telecast among its own other channels when there is a news bulletin..

And the other thing is DONT get carried away by the World Cup and forget the situation of the country we'll need be alert as ever what's happening because this is the time that Terrorists will be more likely to execute their plans while everybody's attention on the World Cup!!!
