He told journalists the government has gathered significant clues to the identity of the perpetrators, but will not reveal any names without solid proof. He also criticised the Indian home minister, who declared the incident a security lapse on the part of Pakistani law enforcement agencies. He said Pakistani police had reacted immediately and saved the lives of the Sri Lankan players by laying down their lives, noting the Indian commandos had taken seven hours to reach Mumbai, APP reported.  He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif should not politicise the incident, adding their statements were regrettable and condemnable.
