no dude, sharing a bed didnt always mean the sexual act.
In the older days Friends shared a bed without having sex due to poverty and what not. The term bed fellows comes from that.
Room mates were those who had enough money to buy 2 beds.
That's why I said my English may be too old. Heck , the word Gay didnt mean homosexual for quite a long time. It still means merry or happy even though its no longer used in that sense.
