First one (Studio 15) is better. Obviously the CPU and the amount of RAM in the second configuration (Inspiron 1545) is better. But when you look at the overall configuration I think first one is better, here is why:

The graphics card of the Studio 15 (ATI 4750) is roughly 40% faster than the other one (ATI 4330). Amount of video RAM included with 4750 is only 256MB, but for games and other graphics intensive applications GPU matters more than the amount of video RAM. 256MB is enough for most games, therefore IMO 4750 will still perform faster than a 4330 despite having less video RAM.
Studio has a LED backlit display rated HD while Inspiron has a normal CCFL TFT display (resolution is not given so I can’t comment on that). But LED displays are brighter, uniformly lit and consume less power (= more battery life).
Inspiron doesn’t have a HDMI output therefore you cannot get digital video output from your notebook.
Studio series is placed above the inspiron series in DELL lineup
Design of the Studio is sleeker and stylish
Studio weighs slightly less (6Lbs vs 6.5Lbs)
EDIT: You don’t need to keep the original packing to claim warranty. All you need is the service tag info (it is printed on a sticker pasted underneath the laptop) and keep the recipt (though not needed). However, keep in mind that neither DELL Studio nor Inspiron series is coverd in Sri Lanka by Softlogic, you’ll have to ship it overseas to the closest DELL service center (India / Singapore) to claim warranty.
