DevOps is a concept and practice which consists continuous improvements, process improvements, security, monitoring and governance. So, for me it's basically much more interesting and good pathway. Good devops resources are very hard to find in the industry now. If you are interested in more than coding, DevOps is thepath. Salary is definetly in par with SE's and sometimes more.
