FASTWAY is the brainchild of Ex-MOTORHEAD guitar player Fast Eddie Clarke. Formed in 1983 the first album 'Fastway' entered the UK Charts at #43 and received very good reviews. One year later All Fired Up was released and due to high profile support tours in the US with SCORPIONS and RUSH, the album was a great success. In 1985 'Waiting For The Roar' saw the light of day and FASTWAY supported AC/DC on their 'Fly On The Wall'-Tour in the whole of Europe. 1986 the band wrote the soundtrack for the horror movie 'Trick Or Treat' starring Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons. Singer on all of the four records was Irish man Dave King who`s now famous being the frontman of Flogging Molly. After 1986 FASTWAY released two more studio albums with a different line up and several live and best of albums. 'Eat Dog Eat' is the first new studio album since 1990. Together with new vocalist Toby Jepson (Ex-Little Angels) Fast Eddie Clarke wrote some of his strongest songs. 'Leave The Light On' or 'Sick As A Dog' are only two examples of this varied album. Fast Eddie Clarke is back!

The third collection from the infamous 1988 final world tour, MAKE A JAZZ NOISE HERE is easily one of Zappa's most challenging live recordings in his massive catalog. Comprised mostly of instrumental masterpieces ("King Kong," "T'Mershi Duween"), ... Full Descriptionbizarre group improvisations ("When Yuppies Go To Hell") and a few comedic novelty songs ("Stevie's Spanking"), this two-disc set is a revealing look at one of Zappa's most accomplished (and largest) bands of his career. Also included are some unique (although short) quotes from Stravinsky's "L'Histoire Du Soldat" and Bartok's "Piano Concerto #3." What's more, this is a great illustration of how Zappa actually "played" the band. His use of sampled sound bites ("Fire And Chains") and electronically manipulated sound effects ("Star Wars Won't Work") along with his command of instant stylistic changes in mid-song ("The Black Page") gives us a picture of his immense tonal palette from which he created each performance. It is sad, however, that this was the last time the world would hear this brilliant artist in a live setting.

DOES HUMOR BELONG IN MUSIC* was digitally recorded live with no overdubs on a 1984 tour. It is not the soundtrack to the video of the same name. Although it has some of the same songs, they are different versions.
Who better than Frank Zappa to ask the question DOES HUMOR BELONG IN MUSIC* Recorded on his 1984 world tour, this disc is a wonderful documentation of one of Zappa's best (and smallest) '80s bands. Long-time Zappa guitarist/vocalists Ike Willis and Ray White, keyboardists Alan Zavod and Bobby Martin, bassist Scott Thunes and drummer Chad Wackerman form an incredibly agile ensemble under the strict baton of their leader. Zappa himself turns in many stunning guitar solos in the midst of continuous shenanigans.
Despite the album's title, the proceedings get off to a serious start with "Zoot Allures," one of Zappa's best rock instrumentals. Segueing directly into the classic "Tinsel-Town Rebellion," the humor factor is in full force as the octet masterfully executes Zappa's middle-finger tribute to the recording industry. The group grooves hard on a wonderful rearrangement of "Trouble Every Day" before cracking themselves up on "Penguin In Bondage." After racing through a very comical "Hot Plate Heaven" and other assorted novelties, the grand finale commences with the epic instrumental "Let's Move To Cleveland" followed by Zappa's rendition of the Allman Brothers' "Whippin' Post," powerfully sung by Martin and featuring a young Dweezil Zappa on guitar.

Mofo (making of freak out) is available in 2 versions.
A deluxe 4cd set and a 2cd set. The annoying thing is that the 2cd set has a few songs that arent on the mega 4 disc version, so if you're a completist, you will need both and you end up with a lot of duplicate material. That is my only real problem with mofo, pretty much everything else about this box is fantastic. For me, the best part is the beautiul remaster of the original 1966 Stereo mix of "Freak Out!". The Freak Out cd that frank released in the 80's and is currently in print through rykodisc was a re-mix which sounds pretty good, but this original mix is much warmer and full of life. There is no contest as which mix I prefer, the original 1966 version is far superior in my opinion.
The rest of the sets contains various alternate mixes, backing tracks, interviews, studio improvisations (all lead by Frank) and some early live recordings. There is one bonafide outtake "Groupie Bang Bang" which is as good as anything elese on the album. A great Bo Diddley type rhythm with hilarious lyrics (sung by Ray Collins) about, you guessed it, a groupie!

I love this set. It always put a smile on my face. To begin, the music is marvelous..very catchy tunes. As Marie, Sutherland is a breath of fresh air?what lovely tone quality?what breathtaking coloratura and high notes. The diva simply makes child?s play with marie?s difficult arias, interpolating many high E?s and trills, and fioratura. Sutherland is the supreme vocal virtuoso. Pavorotti is at his absolute best here, never have I heard him in better voice, what a talent he is.
