George Benson is simply one of the greatest guitarists in jazz history, but he is also an amazingly versatile musician, and that frustrates to no end critics who would paint him into a narrow bop box. He can play in just about any style -- from swing to bop to R&B to pop -- with supreme taste, a beautiful rounded tone, terrific speed, a marvelous sense of logic in building solos, and, always, an unquenchable urge to swing. His inspirations may have been Charlie Christian and Wes Montgomery -- and he can do dead-on impressions of both -- but his style is completely his own. Not only can he play lead brilliantly, he is also one of the best rhythm guitarists around, supportive to soloists and a dangerous swinger, particularly in a soul-jazz format. Yet Benson can also sing in a lush, soulful tenor with mannerisms similar to those of Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway, and it is his voice that has proved to be more marketable to the public than his guitar. Benson is the guitar-playing equivalent of Nat King Cole -- a fantastic pianist whose smooth way with a pop vocal eventually eclipsed his instrumental prowess in the marketplace -- but unlike Cole, Benson has been granted enough time after his fling with the pop charts to reaffirm his jazz guitar credentials, which he still does at his concerts.

"God Bless Ozzy Osbourne" tells for the first time the story of his career from the founding of Black Sabbath through to solo stardom and his wider fame beyond. These were the wild days of his prodigious drug and alcohol intake, of biting the head from a dove at a record company meeting and biting into a bat on stage but also of the tragic death of Randy Rhoads and the reality TV show The Osbournes. The film follows Ozzy's torturous and emotionally fraught journey from excess to sobriety, which Ozzy regards as his greatest accomplishment. Featuring never before seen footage, new interviews with Ozzy himself, his brothers and sisters, his children, his bandmates in Black Sabbath and those who both inspired him and were inspired by him, this is the first film to take viewers inside the mind and psyche of this legendary figure. In 1967, John Michael Osbourne, a laborer from Birmingham, England, teamed up with his friend Terence Butler to form a rock group called Rare Breed. The band didn't last long, but a couple years later the two joined forces with Tony Iommi and Bill Ward and launched a new act that would come to be known as Black Sabbath. Taking the stage name Ozzy Osbourne, the group's lead singer became an international icon of hard rock, and after leaving the band in 1979, he went on to a wildly successful solo career. Osbourne also became known for such offstage antics as snorting ants, biting the heads off birds and urinating on the Alamo, and he spent most of his years in the limelight deeply addicted to alcohol and drugs, even as he became a reality TV star with the debut of THE OSBOURNES in 2002. Filmmakers Mike Fleiss and Mike Piscitelli give Ozzy a chance to speak for himself in the documentary GOD BLESS OZZY OSBOURNE, in which the heavy metal pioneer discusses his life, career, family and struggle with addiction; the film also includes interviews with fans and friends Paul McCartney, Tommy Lee, Henry Rollins, John Frusciante, Robert Trujillo and many more. The film was produced by Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne, with Ozzy's longtime wife and manager Sharon Osbourne serving as executive producer.

Allmusic / Biography by Christian Genzel
One of the most successful pop/classical fusion projects, Gregorian mixes well-known pop and rock songs with Gregorian chants. Overseen by producer Frank Peterson, co-founder of Michael Cretu's Enigma outfit, Gregorian's first album, Masters of Chant, released in 1999 (an early 1991 Peterson album released under the name Gregorian isn't counted among the group's official releases, but already employs the same aesthetic), became a smash hit throughout Europe, entering the Top Ten in nine different countries. The following albums continued in the same vein, covering songs by Peter Gabriel, Lenny Kravitz, Coldplay, Bjork, Queen, Tears for Fears, and others. The Dark Side, released in 2004, put a stronger emphasis on the rock element and included songs by Nine Inch Nails and the Doors. Including two live DVD releases, several sequels to the Masters of Chant album, and a 2006 Christmas album, Gregorian sold over four million records under Peterson's guidance.
