Machang there are lot of risks involved, SPYWARE, ADWARE, VIRUSES and stuff.. but you download from trusted sites where most people download.. and before you dowbload see whether anyone who already downloaded has commented or not... this will lower the risk but no guarantee!!

Its at your own risk!! make sure you have a good Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware that offer protection real-time.. as it could minimize the threat...

It depends machan! A virus or spyware can of course be bundled with what u download. So what you should do is to check the comments/flags before you download it! The other users who have downloaded the file will tell you whether its a fake/password protected (assumin the pw is not provided!)/virus/spyware!
But there's another catch! Some users who are jealous with the uploader (for movies!) will tell that its fake or it contains spyware just to prevent from others downloading! This really happens in torrentz.com for aXXo's DVD rips! But they are top quality movies!! (I've tried them!)

Yeah and they even put some malware and name it as aXXo.. to make his name looks bad!! god what a world!!!
