I've spent years studying WWI and to all who have an interest  in the subject, this documentary is a godsend. Granted, John Keegan's single-volume The First World War is a superior analysis of the conflict and reading that book will give one a greater understanding of the war, but even Keegan's masterful account cannot equal the visceral impact of this series.
