Hi. After a long time ;)

Anyways, let me get into the topic straight away !

I got hold of this Mini cooper of a friend of mine about three weeks ago and got totally entangled on the beauty of double Clutching or double shifting (what ever you call it)

There's no need to double clutch in new cars because you have the synchronizes to take care of equaling the engine revs ! ... but I tried this with his cooper and found the double clutch transmission absolutely stunning and the sheer power the engine kicks up is simply amazing.

The power that transmit from the engine to the wheels balance out beautifully in curves and simply only the sound you hear from the engine is a scream saying "let's go... ..let's go":lol::lol:

Ok.. now the question is.. I still find hard to get the exact timing of double clutching and leveling the rev's of the engine with the next gear to come. I read the online articles but it's all the same and give the same boring advices.

So.. are there any Fanatics here in Elakiri who knows tips and tricks on how to time the clutching and to level the rev's of the engine with the gear box?

any tips and personal experiences are appreciated !

    Thanks

machan all u have to do is go for competition Cluch/Pressure Plate and if u can find lighten flywheel too, then u dnt need to worry abt double cluch, u can just hit the cluch do power shift and dump the cluch, thats more power than any

nah nah man.. that's not the point !

I got all the electronic gizmo's and all what knots fine tuned to kick up power when I need in my own car !!

It's the whole process of double clutching I am fascinated with in these old cars ! ..

I always say... it's the way car's are suppose to run and feel !.. the hard sweat breaking handling and killer transmission where if and only when you are "one" with the machine you can take the best performance out of it.

So... I am trying my best NOT TO KILL my self with all the double clutching and the crazy speeds I am taking the turns :lol::lol:.

If you are interested .. let me know, I usually have these practice runs around Colombo with my friends... and only car's older than 1985 are accepted ;).. yeah.. almost vintage stuff with no power steering, traction control or rev equalizers..

So it's pure machine and mussel at the most basic level it can go when it comes to street racing:lol:

The usual route is Starting from Pagodo... Rathmalana via borelasgamuwa and back to Mt.Lavinia via Galle Road... the Aththidiya via Backery junction.. and back to Nugegoda... sometimes we extend the run up to Galleface via Kotta rd, Baseline, Ward place and Townhall... :nerd:

Let me know if you are interested ... got a car earlier than 1985 and anywhere close to those routes ! ;) You are welcome to join up... and the looser buy's beer at Margeritta at the end of every day :lol::lol:
