The CID today failed to submit a report to courts regarding the whereabouts of UPFA member of parliament Duminda Silva as ordered by courts.
IP Meryl Ranjan of the CID was present in courts before the case was taken up, but when the case was called he was absent.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Prasanna de Alwis ordered the IP to personally appear before the court on April 17, to explain the circumstance as to why he failed come before the court during the magisterial inquiry in to the Bharatha Lakshman’s murder.
Earlier on the last hearing the court ordered the CID to file a report outlining whereabouts of parliamentarian Duminda Silva and the steps the CID had taken to arrest and produce him before court.
