Duminda Silva to be made Vice President?

UPFA Colombo District candidate Duminda Silva has managed to outshine all the other governing party contestants in the District. Duminda’s close friendship with the President has helped him reach this position.
Duminda Silva has built a close friendship with the President like Sajin Vass Gunawardena, who contested the Southern Provincial Council election. The SLFP ministers now speak of Duminda Silva as the most powerful man in the government next to the President.
It is now well known among investors that they needed to befriend Duminda Silva in order to get the land of their choice in the North and East for investment purposes. Duminda has also become the most powerful person in the country’s defence network due to his friendship with Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Gotabhaya is engage din promoting Duminda’s campaign like he did with the President during the Presidential election.
By the end of last week Duminda had spent Rs. 1700 lakhs on his general election campaign.
A group of SLFP seniors told Lanka News Web that they would not be surprised if the President uses his Executive powers to create a post of Vice President and present it to Duminda.
