good thread bro I'm a veg and I do become a vegetarian with a reason & its not cos of the trend or fashion or because others are doing such What I believe is no animal should die because of me- because I dont like to die neither suffer from pain so if I like my life, the living animals too has that instinct , So therefore I do not eat any meat any fish any products made up of animal carcasses. so i became veg simply due to my moral beliefs On the other hand there is another aspect as humans are animals descended from apes etc, the natural process of our body needs some nutrients which are only presents in other animals/animal products ( Eg some vitamins like B12) thats why we have canine tooth. So biological aspect humans need to consume meat/fish/anim l products but what I believe is for being a veg is solely a moral or rather ethical issue, so its up to individual persons On top of that if you concern is only about preventing a loss of a live animal, then you can eat ordinary eggs which are simply the female ovum (සංසේචනය නොවූ ඩිම්බ )( but in a while there can be few fertilized eggs with tiny chick embryos) - so eating or liberate eating or strict absence from eggs is an individual choice- where I do not have an strict decision reg it. I do eat things which contain eggs like some deserts, or fried rice found in parties -cos otherwise I' l be a too much of a head ache for the event hosts. In the case of Vit B12 if we can consume adequate milk then the problem MAY be solved - or else you can ask a doctor for vit B12 injections- I think once in a 4-5 month is enough I collect all these facts before becoming a veg, cos I believe there should be a rationale behind what we are doing
